We thought we'd never be able to leave Pondichéry! There was only one bus going to Thanjavur from there, and it left one hour EARLIER! We expected trains and buses to be late, no to be too early... So we waited for another one who would eventually stop at Thanjavur... We waited 2 hours or more, and in the end we found a bus thanks to one of the station guy who pitied us :D
Waiting for the bus, some students (18 year old maximum) tried to convince us not to go to Thanjavur and to join them. They were going to Chidambaram and wanted to show us the city and to meet their families... :D They even asked Anne-Laure's autograph! Pagal hain ;)
Really late in the night, around midnight, we reached Thanjavur, one guy in the hotel was quite boring and stayed in our room during VERY LONG minutes, but otherwise it was ok.
The next day Anne-Laure and I went to Kumbakonam to see a temple, the return was quite an adventure ;D It was so crowded that we couldn't sit during half of the trip, and we were really afraid to hurt people becausewe had big shoes and they all were barefoot...
