Don't think it is The Taj Mahal, it is only a small copy of it ;)

You can see it in Aurangabad, Aurangzeb's city (he was one of Shah Jahan's sons)!

Mumbai Baby

Maïlys and Magda trying to communicate in Hindi with a nice couple on Marine Drive!

Train to Mumbai

Train was completely full! And many people were squatting our coaches! And they were not even nice or smiling. They laughed at us in Hindi, nice :( Fortunately we were 4, so we could share our impressions ;)
Around 9 pm an Indian guy sleeping on the lower couch arrived and told to all the others to go away because he wanted to sleep, so thanks to him we finally got our coaches back ;)

Changing buses to reach Bijapur

Buying bangles in Badami

We'll never forget the salesman's mother. She was soooooo domineering and irritating! She tried to rip off our arms by brutally having us try her bangles! As I was completely burnt by the sun, this was even more painful.

For her everything was always "Very nice" and she kept repeating this until we agreed "Yes, very nice!". The next step was "Packing, packing!!". If we had let her do, she would have packed the entire shop :D

As I'm the only one who didn't buy anything and who told her firmly "Bas. Mujhe pasand nahee hai", I guess she secretly cursed me after we left ;)

Studious girl in the mountain, Badami

Impatient children, Badami

Those 2 kids followed-guided us in the mountains and didn't like the breaks we took. "Continue? Continue?", "Now, now?".. Abhi nahee! ;)

Well, we never asked them to wait for us, so they could have left if they were unhappy :P
Ok, it might seem a lil mean of me to say that, but seriously, sometimes you just wish that people stop following you everywhere. Especially when you know why they follow you ^^ Anyways.....

Temples, Badami

Badami

Swimming Nandi ;) Badami

Between 10 and 20 people followed us during this tramp! It was a lil weird at first but we got used to it ;)

Magda and her guards ;) Badami

Badami

The arrival at Badami was not that good! The hotel was quite dirty and very expensive for what it was.. And at night, the city didn't look very cool, even if it was quite lively thanks to Ganesh festival ;)

But when we discovered the caves and the fort, we began to love the city!

Ganesha's festival

Children dancing for Ganesh festival. Looks a lil messy, but look at the boy on the right, I think he'll be a realy good dancer in some years!

On our way back to Hampi city from Hanuman Temple

The Hanuman Temple, Hampi

Hampi

The awesome view we had from the Hanuman Temple!

Lili in the "shell" boat, Hampi

When we saw the boat, we felt a lil scared, but as we are as insane as our dad, we just decided to do it! And there was no issue, this boat which looks more like a bowl or a big shell was indeed safe ;)

The Hanuman Temple, Hampi

I was really disappointed, when we arrived in the temple situated in the North of the city, people told us it was too late to reach the Hanuman Temple because we had to cross the river. I felt somehow attracted by this temple, as if I needed to go there... Whereas it's not the most beautiful temple at all... You have to climb something like 500 steps to reach the place (that's the white line you seen bellow the temple, it's not a river ;) ), nice challenge!

And a quarter later, we went a guy telling us he could take us there, wait for us and then take us back to the "right" side of the river. It was the end of the day, so Anne-Laure and Magda just came back home, but I convinced my sister to join. And it was amazing! I guess it was not the wisest decision, cause the boatguy could have been some bad guy, but he was not, so in the end, awesome experience ;)

Free monkeys, Hampi

You can see free animals (as in wandering freely in the streets and temples...) everywhere in India: dogs and cats of course, but also many cows, jumping squirrels, pigs, monkeys...

Hampi

Hampi is an awesome place! We walked during hours (was actually a lil tough, so we had to rest in the middle...) to see all the temples. They're almost all outside the city, which means in the middle of nature. It looks somehow magical and very quiet compared to some cities! Definetely a place to see!

Hampi, Karnataka

This small monkey actually stole Anne-Laure's bread... He followed her and suddenly jumped on her bag running away with the bread pieces :D That was the first time a monkey was "bothering" us ;)

Good luck India ;)

You can see such messages from time to time:
- follow traffic rules
- keep your city clean
- don't spit
And I guess India still needs time to respect those rules ;) Drivers don't respect any rule, but don't have so many accidents considering the risks they take, so kyo nahee?
However, about waste, well I must admit that even if France and Paris are not the cleanest places of the world, it's quite a shock. People are living in the streets, but they still don't feel the need to keep them clean (whereas it is the case in Vietnam, people take naps and eat on the streets, so they clean them all the time). And as soon as they finish a package of biscuits or a bottle of water, they just throw it away, anywhere, and sometimes 50 centimers far from a dustbin... For somebody who used to recycle every piece of paper she used, it's not easy to witness that, but I guess all those official signs are a prooth of change :)
About spitting, it's not only disgusting, it's also a way of spreading diseases quicker, and guys really make awful noises before spitting, and they don't mind if you are less than a meter away when they do it...

To Hampi !

Who said, I'd never take a night bus in India, and who already did it twice? O:-)

And it's actually a lil risky, people drive even faster at night --> buses arrive in ADVANCE at destinations ;) Better sleeping deeply, because as soon as you open your eyes, you see all the buses and cars which arrive in front of yours, and believe me, people wait the very last minute to get back on their sides of the road. You feel every tree and every speed ramp (I never saw such bigs speed breakers! Even at 20km/h you still jump in the air!)...

What an experience :D
